Hey Flipper--Meet Me in St Louis
Go fast...turn left...don't crash!

Congratulations to "Cousin" Carl Edwards on his victory last night. I watched some of the race between company and studying for an exam I have on Tuesday. Thought Denny was going to continue his winning ways, but it was Carl who came away with the victory.

I still am wandering around the old homestead trying to find things to do on this non-Cup weekend. I have been trying to upload my web page to my website via TTU, but with no luck. I called IT help at TTU and well, I thought this was going to work....let's just say I want to throw my lap top across the room. I think I will make one more attempt with the IT people and call it a day.

Also since I can't watch the NASCAR boys today, I am going to watch the INDY cars. Racing on Sunday is better than nothing. Danica will NOT be coming over to NASCAR. She signed with Andretti Green this week. I think she wants to make her name in Indy cars first and then perhaps come over to race with the NASCAR boys.

Hope everyone is enjoying their off weekend. It's time to get back to "work" and get ready for the rest of the season.

Not So Hot
Go fast...turn left...don't crash! (Cup boys still on vacation)

I posted earlier today about how HOT it has been here in the vast part of Texas...well some kind of liquid came falling from the sky this evening. I think it's what most people call rain, but since it has happened I am going to assume it is rain.

One would think rain would cool things off...well, it's not as hot as it was earlier today, but it is still warm. It reminds of those days when it would rain in Houston and it would still feel like a hundred.

Well...if you didn't have a cold one earlier...have one now.

HOT!
Go fast...turn left...don't crash! (Cup Boys are on vacation this week--so i am posting about random stuff)

I just have to say...it is muy caliente!!! Not just HOT, but DAMN HOT!!!

And what am I doing in two weeks??? Going to the desert where it's even hotter!!! LAS VEGAS!!!

How hot was Las Vegas yesterday?? 104
How how was Lubbock?? 98

98??? I drove by a bank yesterday and it was reporting 105!! I guess it was cooler out at the airport.

What am I doing about the heat? Staying inside with the AC cranked up. I hate this kind of hot weather. Of course, I am glad I don't live where there is any kind of crazy humidity. Here it's like standing in front of on open oven--more of a dry heat.

Stay cool everyone and have a cold one on me!

Pocono
Go fast...turn left...don't crash!

Unbelievable!Mr. Hamlin! That's right a rookie won both poles and both races this year at Pocono Raceway. Denny dominated yesterday's race. It was as if no matter what the other drivers did to their cars, Denny was that much better. Denny's over the wall guys got it done for him in the pits as well. The last pit stop--great move. That forced the hands of all the other drivers--just gas, two tires/gas, four tries gas...it didn't matter. You were awesome Mr. Hamlin. Enjoy your week off--next race--Indy! This victory put Denny 8th in the standings.

Smoke Report
Tony qualified 13th--not bad starting position. However, on Lap 31, Tony scraped the wall on Turn 3. From all the videos, it seemed Clint Bowyer squeezed Tony up against the wall, however, Clint did move over to give Tony room to recover. Tony was not happy which led to a hand out the window and Tony turning into Bowyer. This caused Bowyer to hit Carl Edwards--thus ending Carl's day to have a good run. Tony was black flagged one lap for aggressive driving. He was not given the lucky dog--he had to earn his lap back. A caution came out at Lap 65 when Kyle Petty hit the wall HARD! As Tony is entering pit road, Carl spins Tony out in retaliation for the incident on Lap 31. Carl received a black flag and had to serve a one lap penalty for aggressive driving. All in all Tony finished 7th which moved him to 10th place in the standings--of course as well all know this could change come the next race.

I will defend Tony's actions most of the time they are warranted and defendable. However, yesterday, I just couldn't defend what Tony did. From my point of view (on my couch in Lubbock, TX), Clint looked like he squeezed Tony up into the wall, however, Clint moved his car down and Tony could have recovered. That could have been the end of it there. Tony is a passionate driver and wants to win, however, what he did yesterday could have cost him a spot in the Chase. This was something that was detrimental to not only him, but his team and all their hard work. The penalty was fairly issued.

Candyman Report
Nothing to report except his car was CRAP all day. He did however lead a lap and get his 5 bonus points. Elliott finished a dismal 32nd.

Other News
Junior didn't have a great day either. He crashed out and finished 43rd again. This dropped in out of the top ten to 11th. He went from 3rd to 11th in two weeks. He looked disgusted yesterday.

What a weekend for Kevin Harvick. He finished first in the Busch race on Saturday and scored a top five in the Cup race. I feel he will definitely be there contending for the championship along with his RCR teammate Jeff Burton (finished 9th)

I think this week off will allow everyone to get back to where they need to be to make that final push to get into the Chase.

Martinsville and the Rains
Go fast...turn left...don't crash!

It's going to be short post today..been nursing some kind of virus/cold/headache...so here it is.

Congratulations to Kevin Harvick for winning the Busch race in Martinsville today.

Watched NASCAR Live--only to find to find that rain was the only thing worth reporting on. Today's Cup practice was cancelled so tomorrow will itneresting. It was funny to see the tires floating in the rainwater. But of course the highlight was seeing Elliott Sadler in shorts and goofing around with Jamie at the NASCAR Live Pool Party.

Congrats to Denny Hamlin for winning the pole! He won the pole in June and the result...he won the race. Could there be a repeat Sunday?

In other news coming out of Pocono--I give up on trying to follow this whole "Who will Elliott drive for next year?" game. Is it Everham? Is it Roush? Or is it some other team yet to be determined? I guess none of us will know until it is officially announced. So it's pretty much a crap shoot at this point...either way I think Elliott made the right move in leaving RYR. As i have said before...buckle up everyone, it's going to be a bumpy ride.

Good Luck this Weekend Boys!!!!

Lubbock's Finest and Not So Finest
Lubbock's Finest...I would like to thank one of Lubbock's finest for pulling over the speeder on the road my apartment complex is on.

The speed along this road is 35 mph. That's right folks...35 mph. I have to turn right or left (depending on which way I am driving on this street) to enter the complex. This can be somewhat like trying to enter your pit box with all the other cars behind. Since the "widening" of the street--instead of 2 lanes there are 4 lanes. Drivers think this is some kind of drag strip.

Thank you Mr. Officier. Thank you. I can live to drive another day on the Lubbock streets.

Lubbock's NOT so finest...I stopped by Subway to grab me some dinner after my class. Let me preface...this Subway is a good one..usually friendly workers and pretty fast, but however this was not the case tonight.

1. There was already a line when I entered the shop. This isn't unusually, but there was only ONE person working.

2. The second person was due at 6:00 pm...it was 6:15. That's right this person was fifteen minutes late. I am a stickler for being on time to work. I will give you some slack on 5 minutes and maybe 10, but 15...i don't think so.

3. First worker was slower than molasses making the 2 six inch sandwiches for the customers in front of me. OH MY GOD!!! Of course one of the customers couldn't decide WTF she wanted.

4. Late worker took the drive thru order--2 footlongs. The only reason I know this is because I watched her make them because first worker was helping two other customers. I hate the fact the Subway has a drive thru..but that's another post.

5. Late worker finally got to me...I ordered a salad. While making my salad the first worker screwed up ringing up drive thru order--late worker told her...they ordered 2 foot long meal deals..how hard can that be? I don't work at Subway, but isn't everything pretty much listed on the computer menu so they can ring up the orders correctly??? This prevented her from helping me in a timely manner.

6. FINALLY, 20 minutes later I had my dinner and I was in my SUV and on the way home.

Trouble?
Go fast...turn left...don't crash!

I have found it amusing this week that the press seem to think Tony is in Chase trouble. One headline I saw said, "Stewart suddenly in Chase trouble." I, on the other hand, don't seem to think this and here's why

1. Tony was spun out by Ryan Newman. I know Tony was upset that Newman did this, but to me it was just racing deal (unlike the Kenseth/Gordon meet and greet last week). The end result was the same. Before the spin Tony was running in the top 5 and contending for the lead.

2. Tony is in 11th place and only 11 points behind 10th place Greg Biffle.

3. There are still 7 races left, including this week's race at Pocono, until the Chase starts.

4. The next two tracks after Pocono are good ones for Tony--Indianapolis & Watkins Glen. And as I recall he won both of these races in 2005.

5. Tony has a week off. This will give him a chance to relax and get things in place for the rest of the season. I know when I have a vacation from the grind at work I get renergized.

Tony will be in the Chase to defend his championship.

Elliott and Tony
Go fast...turn left...don't crash!

Well..I guess it is official because I saw it on both NASCAR.com and Jayski's. Elliott in the #19 beginning 2007 and WITHOUT M&Ms as his sponsor. Looks like no more Candyman, but how 'bout RED HOT?

I just have to post thse pictures of Tony at Talladega--hey Tony if that racing thing don't work out you can go into construction.

Louden Blues
Go fast...turn left...don't crash!

All I can say about yesterday is...it SUCKED!!

I have never really been a fan of Mr. Newman and after yesterday, I don't think I will ever be. On Lap 91 Newman...pretty much killed Tony's day. Tony was running good. He qualified 5th and could have contended for the victory, but that damn Alltel car ruined his day. Tony finished 37th and dropped him out of the top ten to 11th in the standings.

Of course the NASCAR karma has a way of rearing its ugly head--what goes around comes around. Just 4 laps later Mr. Newman is tapped from behind by Michael Waltrip and spins around. His day is ruined as well and that pretty much sealed his fate. He will not make the Chase unless there is some divine intervention. Maybe--Tony should find a Newman pinata instead of a Jeremy one.

Hey Mikey...get the door...it Dominos...a pizza on me.

It looked like Elliott was going to have a decent finish, but as always hope faded away. A few late cautions and the overtime killed any hope of a great finish (something he needed). Elliott finished 25th.

Of course, the buzz around the track this weekend was Elliott's possible move to Everham and the #19. We all have heard the Jeremy hasn't been happy over at Everham and well there's an offere on the table for Jeremy to drive for Toyota and Michael Waltrip next year. This move could open up the #19 for Elliott. I wouldn't mind Elliott going to Everham. Everham is a good organization and is on the rise. Everham is a proven winner--I mean Kasey has won 4 races this year and Scott Riggs is a decent driver. The rumor is if Elliott leaves RYR for the #19 M&Ms will go with him. M&Ms has to go with him...HE IS THE CANDYMAN!! Hey--is that Kasey persudaing Elliott to come over to Everham and drive with a real team..he he.

Oh yea...Little Shrub won the race.

Other notables
3rd Greg Biffle
4th Mark Martin (Postman very happy about this.)
5th Kevin Harvick
7th Jeff Burton
14th Matt Kenseth (This sucked too. week.)

Next week the boys are headed back to Pocono.

Trixie's Rant
Warning, Warning, Danger Will Robinson: This post is a rant. If you don't like my rant...tough! This is MY BLOG and I can rant if I want to.

My postings are usually about "My Boys", or whatever randomness strikes my fancy, however this post is not one of those posts.

Do you ever feel like you don't matter? Well, that's where I am right now. I don't matter, well it feels like I don't. How I got to this point, I really don't know. To those of you out there who are making me feel like this...YOU SUCK! Since I generally don't use people's real names on my blog (this goes for my own name too), I cannot mention these life suckers by name. As much as it would be great to call them out so that EVERYONE will know who you are and what kind of people YOU are, I won't. Sometimes you have to protect the MEANIES from the rest of the world. But watch...one day when you least expect...POW...you will be out there for all the Blogosphere to see. Note to CRAZYman---quit picking on me. You are such a complete jerk. I shouldn't let the things that come out of your mouth affect me, but it feels as if you are attacking me on a personal level. This stems from the fact that you passed judgement on me because of one person's view of me. So now I pass judgement on that person. If you don't know me on a personal level, I try not to judge people on what other people have to say. Why? Because it is THEIR opinion NOT mine. I buy into the whole, "people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones" mentality. (I also live by a slightly different version as well..."people in glass houses shouldn't walk around naked." That's some good advice.). I struggle with this every single day. So don't go commenting about how I have been known to judge people, yada, yada, yada...I know I have. I just said I struggle with it every day.

I am tired. Not the kind of tired you feel from not getting enough sleep, but tired of everyone's crap. Three words for you people...
KISS MY ASS! Quit acting like your problems are the only one's on this planet. Have you even stopped to think I might not want to listen to you? I have enough to deal with in my life without you adding more to it. In the words of Jo Dee Messina..."MY GIVE A DAMN'S BUSTED"!!!

Some of you are probably thinking this is about you, but it's not. This rant is not directed at any one person in particular...it's a overall feeling that I am having. Sometimes just ranting is therapeutic. You can comment or not comment that's your choice. But I do reserve the right to delete your comment if I find them hurtful, mean spirited, or just plain dumb.

Alaska Football
And I thought we were passionate about football in Texas...

Source:Fox Sports

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Players in a flag football game began firing shots after play became rough, seriously injuring one player and sending participants and spectators scrambling for exits, authorities said Monday.

Witnesses said they thought at least 50 shots were fired Sunday night at the open-air Anchorage Football Stadium.

Play in a pickup flag football game with participants ranging in age from 16 to their mid-20s became especially tense late in the match, officials said.

"An incident occurred during one of the plays in which some individuals started an argument," said Ross Plummer, assistant police chief. "It turned into a disturbance. At some point, somebody pulled out a gun and began firing into the crowd."

After the first shot, players dropped to the turf, then scattered, witnesses said. There were dozens of people at the game, police said, and some players and spectators climbed a chain link fence to escape.

Police have arrested no one and are seeking help from witnesses.

Daniel L. Leituala, 21, was in serious condition after being shot in the shoulder and below his left eye, police said. He had played in the game but was not involved in the scuffle, Plummer said.

Crazy Lady
I have never been one to impune other NASCAR fans for who they chose to root for. If you want to be a fan of THAT driver more power to you or if you like the Shrub brothers that's your decision, but yesterday I yelled all kinds of not so nice words to a fellow NASCAR fan.

This piece of crap white car turned onto the road I was driving on. I was in the left lane and she was attempting to turn into the right lane, but apparently she wanted my lane too. This caused me to swerve and nearly taken out one of those "lovely" orange construction zone cones. (I like the color orange, but not when it is about to become a hood ornament for my SUV.) She eventually ended up behind me. I was going a little slower than normal, but this was due to the fact the car in front (Mr. Mitshubishi) of me. I see her riding my bumper because I guess she thought I was the one who was driving slow. She zoomed around not only me, but the car in front of me. Here comes the part the really pissed me off! There was barely enough space in front Mr. M to fit a VW, but this white car thought differently. She proceeded to squeeze in front of Mr. M causing him to slam on his brakes thus causing me to whoa up as well to avoid become a bumper accessory to his car. Luckily there wasn't anyone behind me. As we all sitting at the same intersection waiting for the light to turn green, I see it--her antenna ball.

Note to driver of white car: YOU ARE NOT DALE EARNHARDT JR.!!! AND YOU ARE NOT AT DAYTONA!!!

Chicago--Not My Kind of Town
Go fast...turn left...don't crash (except for THAT driver)!

I wanted to wait until the smoke cleared before commenting on yesterday's race. I am still very, very upset, but calm enough to report on the race.

Some of THAT driver's quotes regarding HIS on track incident with Mr. Matt Kenseth.
"I hate to win one like that." (Then WTF...race him don't spin him)
"I wanted to race him." (Then do it.)
"I'm not going to back down." (Please.)
"I wanted to win." (So did Matt.)
"I certainly didn't mean to wreck him, but I didn't mid moving him out of the way either." (Please..you had every intention of wrecking him--see quote below)
"When it came down with five to go, he should have expected, iif I coudl get to his bumper, there was going to be some action...One, because of what happened in Bristol--and I'm not saying I just was going to wreck him, but you better believe I was going to make life difficult on him. And then No. 2 just 'cause we're hungry right now." (You are on probation, of course you aren't going to come out and say I wrecked him on purpose.)

From the replays, it did look like Matt slowed up a bit--one to avoid Casey Mears (THAT driver's future teammate), but here wasn't anybody behind THAT driver. I would think THAT driver could have slowed up to avoid hitting Matt. UGH!!! In my opinion, THAT driver wanted to get Matt back for the Bristol incident and what better way in THAT driver's mind, but to take a VICTORY away. Just remember little man, sometimes the NASCAR Gods have a funny way of getting sweet, sweet revenge. Besides isn't THAT driver the same one who gets all whiney when someone does the same thing to him???

And the commentators were having their own THAT driver love fest as well. UGH--enough already. I wished I could have been there because I would have thrown something at THAT driver too. The commentators said it was a low life thing for the fans to throw things at THAT driver and it is bad for the sport. What about what he did??? I even watched Victory Lane to see what ol' Jimmy and Kenny had to say, but ugh..enough with the love fest.

Note to Matt--Postman suggest you take out THAT driver at Richmond, especially if THAT driver is sitting in 10th place. Talk about sweet revenge.

Tony and Elliott Report
Smoke started towards the back but quickly made his way towards the front. For awhile it looked as if Tony was going to challenge for the win. I was hoping for a top 5 finish, but he ran out of gas late and finished a dismal 32nd which moved him back to 7th in the standings. However, Smoke finished 9th in the Busch race on Saturday.

Elliott had a dismal time in Chicago. I guess Chicago isn't Elliott's kind of town. He finished 29th yesterday (3 spots better than Tony) and 38th in the Busch race on Saturday. Plus we didn't get a full hour's worth of Mr. Sadler on Trackside either. Oh well...a little bit of Elliott is better than no Elliott at all.

Congratulations to Casey Mears for winning his first race in any NASCAR division. I don't know if I can cheer for you next year since you are going over to the Dark Side. Postman did pick Casey this weekend as his driver for his contest and what did Casey do for Postman??
Casey finished 25th. Of course, I informed Postman not to pick Casey despite the fact that Casey ran good for him earlier in the year. I told him to pick Greg Biffle. Guess where The Biff finished yesterday?? That's right my friends 11th! Of course Postman should know by now not to pick either Kasey or Casey. Every time he does, they crap out on him.

On to New Hampshire boys..buckle up my friends, it's going to be a bumpy ride!

Jeff and Elliott
Go fast...turn left...don't crash!

Lookie there...Jeff Burton on the pole for Sunday's race. That's number two for Mr. Burton.

I turned over tonight to watch Mr. Sadler on Trackside tonight and to my surprise he wasn't there...of course, he was doing the real job...practicing his Busch car. I did get to see a little of his appearance, but had to jet with Postman for some grub. However, I did Tivo it so I can watch it later without commercials.

Indy Stuff
Tony was presented with his winner's ring for the 2005 Allstate 400 at the Brickyard by Indianapolis Motor Speedway president Joie Chitwood, at the speedway's Hall of Fame in Indianapolis.

Here's Tony with the ring on (more photos can be found on Indy's website). LOOKS GREAT TONY!

From what I can tell they have quite a few things on display, including 5 of Tony's cars that helped Tony be the driver he is today.

I would love to see Tony make it two in a row come August 6.

Ford Fusion
Background: I love my Hyndai Santa Fe aka the Beast. Unfortunately I think it has a car jinx. I have had two accidents since purchasing the thing in 2004. The first one...some idiot broadsides me and then doesn't stop...SOB! This occured about a week before the November 2005 race at Texas. Welcome to 2006--I sideswiped a car--my fault entirely...DAMN blind spot...when do you say...one week before the April 2006 race at Texas. Are you sensing a pattern here? Let's just say I have been banned by Postman from driving the Santa Fe come October--a week before this year's November race.

Current: I want a Ford Fusion. One, I will save on gas. I have to feed the Beast once a week which runs about $45-$50. Second, so I can say Ford Fusion like Elliott. I can't type the way he says it, but for those who are in the know...know what I am talking about. I have also found it would be cheaper than what I am paying for the Beast. Here's a picture of it--in red....woo hoo!

Why not a Monte Carlo like Tony drives? I mean after all Tony is my #1 man. I don't like the Monte Carlo model. I have seen several around Raiderland and I just don't like them. I am trying to save money too..they are a little more $$$...might as well keep the Beast. Of course, if I could find a Home Deport orange one with the #20 on it and my own personal driver, I might could be persuaded to purchase one.

NASCAR Newbie
Go fast...turn left...don't crash!

This weekend was somewhat relaxing for me. Sometimes you need those kind of weekends.

I was able to watch the Pepsi 400 with a NASCAR Newbie. I find it quite amusing to watch a race with someone who doesn't follow NASCAR. This was my chance to "recruit". You know we are ALWAYS looking for new members. NASCAR Newbie asked a lot of questions which I don't mind--that's how we get ya. I wasn't alone in my quest to "recruit" Newbie...I had a fellow NASCAR nation, Elliott Fan along side me. Newbie may not have been "recruited" as of yet, but Newbie will come over to the "Dark Side" as Elliott Fan put it. Newbie even purchased Elliott Sadler merchandise for Elliott Fan. Baby steps I say...baby steps!

Newbie--Sorry I couldn't be of much help during the race trivia portion of the night. Elliott Fan kicked my butt on some of the questions. Also thanks for the Elliott DVD!

Saturday night was AWESOME!!! Orange never looked so good!

Sorry I didn't get a chance to post yesterday I still have Smoke in my eyes. Tony dominated the field--what else can I say. For awhile the HMS brigade had four cars up near the front, but it was still early. I was going to be throughly digsuted if one of those cars won the race, but I knew in my heart Smoke would not let that happen.

Of course when you go to restrictor place races, there is the big one. I, myself, saw a few little ones--of course when wrecks take out Princess Jimmie and Jeffie Poo--it's a big wreck. I was a little upset when the last "big one" took out Mark Martin. Postman didn't see the wreck, but I yelled loudly enough for both of us. Yes--that was me doing the happy dance when Jeff crashed. Of course we all knew when they interviewed Jeff there would be some of his traditional whining...and yep we weren't disappointed. I was ticked when Jimmie got into Bobby Labonte. I think Bobby is a good racer and deserves to have a decent run, but he has just had some bad luck this year.

I sooooo loved Tony's fence climbing!! After all he has been through over the past month or so, this was definitely worth it all. And what was he thinking when he dove into the crowd??? That was some crazy stuff! Of course I probably would have been there too with all the other Tony fans! You rock Mr. Stewart.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

I was also excited that Elliott finished in the top ten!!! Elliott needed a run like that. Maybe things are turning around for Elliott--a top ten at the road race and now a top ten at Daytona. I thought he had finished 5th, but after NASCAR looked at the scoring loop when the caution came out it showed Matt K. was 5th and Elliott 6th. Things are looking great for the Candyman. I was hoping Fox would interview Elliot because he did finish in the top ten, but alas they didn't. But Trackside took care of things for me. I will never be able to hear the words "Ford Fusion" again without thinking of Elliott ( I just love the way he talks!). That smile on his face said it all Saturday night!

Congrats to Matt K for finishing 5th. See, Matt and Tony can play nice at Daytona...of course it does help when they are being watched by Trixie and Babs.

I have to give some major props to Boris Said. He got the pole for the Pepsi 400 and he finished
4th. Not bad my friend! Of course it would have been kind of cool to see you shave all that curly hair off like you promised Dick Berggren.

I do like this picture, but I am a little distrubed by the big Pepsi case sitting Smoke's car. I am aware it was the Pepsi 400. We all know Tony drinks Coke and he even made a comment to take effect. Yes, I know Pepsi was the sponsor, but ugh!!!!

(Sidebar: For those of you who didn't know, I have been on this quest to find Orange Powerade with Tony's picture on the front. I have had no luck the last few weeks. But that has all changed...as of last night (thanks to an awesome friend) I have acquired said Powerade. )
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

With this win, Tony moves back up in the standings to 5th. Matt is still behind Princess, but only 8 points behind. Do you see us coming Princess???? With Jeff's little mishap, it drops him out of the top ten.

On to Chicago and a new broadcast team and channels--TNT and NBC or as I like to call NBC...Nothing But Commericals. I hope Chicago will be Tony's kind of town.

Good Luck Boys!

Junebug's Night
Go fast...turn left...don't crash!

Congratulations to Junior!

(Was that Tiredawg doing the happy dance last night??)

This is his first win at Daytona since winning a Busch race "back in the day" on February 16, 2004. He took the lead early in the race and never looked back. He led 88 of the 103 laps. This gave him his 21st Busch victory tying him with Harry Gant and of course, his father Dale Sr for seventh on the all time list. Not bad company Junior. Junior had a tire going down, but luckily there were a few late cautions that helped him. Even with the cautions, he drove away from the field. That was some nice blocking to keep back the rest of field.

After crashing the finish line, Junior breaks his transmission doing a burn out. So he didn't get to drive the #8 car to Victory Lane.

The race was clean for about 50 or laps...no cautions...and then after the announcers make note of this...BAM...our first big caution. And as we all know cautions breed cautions. Of course there was a little bump drafting last night and Michael Waltrip fell victim to Cousin Carl's bummper hello. Cousin Carl got served wtih a one lap penalty for agressive driving. Mikey didn't seem upset, but I think off camera he might have been pretty steamed. I would have. If I was running good and had a chance to compete for the win and then BAM someone else takes me out...definitely would be pissed.

Here are some pics from the carnage last night.

Tony looked good and was moving up through the field, but alas he finished outside the top 10 in 12th place. That's alright. He will be sitting pretty come Saturday night. And speaking of Saturday night...props go out to Boris Said for winning the Pole for the Pepsi 400. Not bad for someone who is generally considered a road race ringer. Of course, who is next to him on the front row???? MR. TONY STEWART. The NASCAR gods do have a little sense of humor. For those who have forgotton, Boris and Tony had a little meet and greet last week at Sonoma.

Well, on the main event...Daytona under the lights. Hopefully it won't go into the wee hours of the morning like last year. I would LOVE to see the same result as last year too. A couple of things...Matt and Tony...behave yourselves...both Babs and I will be watching you two. There's a lot of laps...use your heads and don't do something stupid early. Finally watch the bumper hellos...NASCAR is watching...just ask Carl.

See ya'll Saturday night!!!!
