Times They Are A Changin'
Trixie radioed...

This week for me has been somewhat a little bit chaotic. Like Elliott, I too am switching teams. I am moving to another department where I work. It is similar to a job I did about 1 1/2 years ago, but some things will be a little different. Like Mr. Sadler, I will be working with a whole new team and learning everyone's name, etc. I have some "new things" to learn, but for the most part it will be like riding a bike.

If you don't know I work on college campus, classes started this week. Here's a little bit of trivia for everyone...the incoming freshman class..most of them were born in 1988. I graduated high school in 1988. In the fall of that year, I started college. How 'bout that to chew on for awhile???

Only 2 more races folks and the Chase will be set. I am hoping Tony can make a good run at Jimmie, but if he can't my money will be on Matt. I think he has the momentum to dethrone Mr. Jimmie.

Power Rankings from NASCAR.com are out...they've gone retro...if your driver was a movie character from the 80s what would he be...

TONY..
Darth Vader in Return of the Jedi: "You underestimate the power of the Dark Side. If you will not fight, then you will meet your destiny." (How appropriate that may favorite movie villian of all time and my favorite driver are joined together..he he)

Well..that's it for now...on to California my friends....

Back To Back at Bristol
Trixie radioed...

Matt Kenseth was awesome this weekend! First the Busch race and then the Cup race!! Hey Jimbo...watch out Matt is a comin' for you! With Kenseth's win on Saturday night, Roush completed the weekend sweep!

I don't know what was going on with Tony's car all evening. He started out in the top 5 and it went down hill from there. He finished a dismal 22nd. The one time Postman picks Tony for his Driver Draft contest, he performs crappy. Thanks Postman (sarcasm)! You car killer!

Elliott was running good until he had a meet and greet with the wall not once, but twice. He finished 39th..one spot above his old ride. It was still a positive weekend for Elliott.

I was watching Race Day and they announced that Mark Martin would NOT be back in a Roush Cup car for 2007. They interviewed both Roush and Martin and they seemed surprised about the announcement. Of course they could have both been playing "dumb" about it all. Oh well...this has been one silly season and we aren't even into the Chase yet.

California here we come...

My Other Men
Trixie radioed...

Tony qualified 5th and way to go Elliott for qualifying 9th.

I have been restraining from commenting on the Elliott/Jeremy/Ray triangle. But I have to wonder what was going on with Jeremy. Was he that frustrated that it affected his driving ability? I don't know any more, but I hear that he has found a new ride for 2007 with Bill Davis Racing and Toyota.

This is the second week in a row the #19 has qualified in the top ten. Elliott finished 10th at Michigan. For all of us Elliott fans we are soooooooooooo happy to see Elliott running good. I have a picture of him sitting on my desk (he's in a blue M&M shirt and has his shades on) and I just have to say DAMN!!! He is just HOT!!! I would like to thank fellow Elliott fan for the picture. She was lucky to get a chance to meet him at TMS in April and shared a copy of her pic with me.

Speaking of TMS--the boys will return to Texas in November! I noticed this information on Elliott's Fan Club site for all you Elliott fans out there who will be at the November race. Looks like he will be live and in person at the Bass Pro Shop in Grapevine on Nov. 2. That's probably the one by Grapevine Mills Outlet Mall.

Count me in folks! This is just a hop, skip, and a jump away from where I will be staying. Postman you have been forewarned!
  • Nov 02 - Bass Pro Shop in Grapevine, TX. Starting at 6pm. (Thursday)
  • Nov 08 - Bass Pro Shop in Garland, TX. Starting at 5pm. (Wednesday)(after the race weekend--so if you live in the area you have another chance)

  • I can't forgot my "other man" Tony. He took looks HOT! (Yes, I do have a picture of my husband Postman on my desk despite what others may think.)

Good luck to all my men! Watch out Carl! You never know what can happen at Bristol!!!

Oh yea in case anyone cares...Alien is on the pole for Bristol.

    My MAC
For those of you who don't know my HP laptop that I have had the last four years is kaput. I can still use it, but trying to view everything through a screen that looks like someone shot a bb through it is tough.

After much deliberation, contemplation, and consultation, I purchased a MacBook from Apple and it will be here sometime next week. Happy Happy Joy Joy!!!

This will be the first time I have used any kind of non-PC computer since my first year in college back in the day.

Of course I cannot mention Apple, without reminiscing about the "first time" on one these babies. My first time was with an Apple IIe in high school computer class. Yep...I am definitely dating myself by that reference. I didn't mind the Apples back then, but damn you had to constantly switch floppys in and out--and I am talking about the big size floppies. Computers sure have a come a long way since then.

Since I did mention the dinosaur that is the Apple IIe, I can't pass up the shout out to the Commodore 64.

    Go fast...turn left...don't crash!

I about died laughing at this on NASCAR.com by Marty Smith--I think my co-workers have decided to call the men in the white coats.

On a lighter note, in conversing with various industry experts I've come to realize the only true resolution to this matter is a good ol' fashioned battle royal. And, considering the numerous soap operas currently playing throughout the garage, I have taken it upon myself to choose teams:

    • Team 1: Ray Evernham/Dale Earnhardt Jr./Tony Stewart
    • Team 2: Jeremy Mayfield/Carl Edwards/Clint Bowyer

Site: JR Motorsports NASCAR Busch Series shop; Mooresville, N.C.
Sanctioning Body: Dirty Mo Boxing Co.
    Referee: Michael Helton
Stipulations: Fifty percent proceeds to Victory Junction Gang Camp; other 50 to be divided among the drivers' personal charity-of-choice.
Undercard: Jeff Gordon vs. Matt Kenseth, cage match.

I would pay money to see it. I would love to see Matt kick some Gordon butt. Team 1 would definitely take Team 2.

    Vegas 2006-NASCAR
I made a visit to NASCAR cafe as I always do when I am in Vegas. The food is pretty decent and usually the service is fair, but this time the service sucked. However, I was able to get a nice cold Coke. For some odd reason you can't get Coke in most of the restaurants in Vegas. I HATE PEPSI! But as we all know Coke is the "Official Drink of NASCAR", thus it was served at the NASCAR cafe. I didn't take too many pictures since I had already several of them from previous visits, but here are the ones I took while I was there.

First up--pics of Tony's Car. This was an old one because it had a Winston Cup Series sticker on it. However, I really enjoyed the front of the car
    .

They also have Dale Sr's car inside the gift shop. I met a fellow NASCAR and Dale Sr. fan. He didn't have his camera with him. He asked if I could take his picture for him and of course anything for a fellow fan. There was also a Dale Jr car hanging from the ceiling. These are for you Tiredawg. (Sorry I couldn't Dale Sr's car full size..they have it up on a ramp. There are racks of merchandise surrounding it so it is difficult to get a complete picture.)

I made a visit to Madame Trousseau's (located at the Venetian) the same day I went to NASCAR cafe. Most of the figures were pretty life like. It was strange. There was an area for NASCAR fans. They were showing a video of cars driving around a track. You could move the cars with just the movement of your hands on the wall. My friend Mr. Offiicer and I decided to try it out. We kind of look like we are explaining what happened during a race. Of course, our race coverage is commerical free!
Next to the screen was of course a wax figure of the man himself...Dale Earnhardt Sr. Once again this one is for Tiredawg. It's hard to tell, but it really did look like Dale. They did an awesome job! It was as if I was standing next to The Man.

I did manage to make it down to M&M World to see what kind of Elliot Sadler items I could purchase. I knew Elliott was no longer driving for M&M, but there were a couple of things I wanted to get. I only purchased a t-shirt however. Everything was still full price. You would have thought things would have been marked at a reduced price. Well, the shirt I purchased was half off, but I think it was because it was a 2005 shirt. Elliott's Pirates of the Carribbean Car was on display. I was glad it was the Pirate car since I already had pictures of Elliott's "normal" yellow car. These are for you Esad fans!

I had mentioned earlier that I was going to take a tour of Las Vegas Motor Speedway. However, they were still "under construction". We would have only been able to view the infiled from one of the suites, we decided not to take the tour. I was a little disappointed. But I did purchase a few NASCAR souvenirs for myself and Postman.

Well, I hope everyone enjoyed my little NASCAR tour of Vegas. I will have other posts later on in the week.

    Michigan
    Go fast...turn left...don't crash!

I was so glad to be home and watching "my boys" race. For the most part the race was good.

Congratulations to Matt Kenseth! I guess that was Jane I heard cheering on Matt.

I tried to watch most of the race, but I am checking out prices for a new lap top.

I was happy that Tony finished 3rd after starting so far in the back of the pack. You know how it can go when you are in the back.

I am so glad Elliott Watch 2006 is finally over. I am still holding judgement on the whole Everham and Jeremy situation. It was good to see Elliott qualify 2nd and finish in the top ten. Oh by the way...he looks really good in that red uniform.

On to Bristal night racing next week...

    There's No Place Like Home
    Go fast...turn left...don't crash!

Got home on Saturday morning. I have been catching up on my sleep. I will try to post things this week. I have a couple of things at work to catch up on so it may be late in the week before Vegas pictures are up.

I do have to get a new laptop. I guess it isn't as tough as I thought. Apparently when the bookbag where the laptop was contained wasn't a good container. It feel out of the car a couple of times and now I have a broken screen. It looks like someone took a gun and shot a hole into it. I can still access things, but the screen looks yucky. I have been wavering between a new HP and the the new Apple. I will check all the prices and see.

I am going to sit at home and watch NASCAR today. Congrats to Dale Jr. yesterday! Here's a cold one for ya Dale from this Tony fan.

    Good Luck Tony and Elliott

    Las Vegas Update
    Go fast...turn left...don't crash!

Hey guys...was able to get some internet access for the day. Only 10.95 for 24 hours! Well, I needed to get online.

Here's an update--will have lots of pictures when I get back. I am having a very relaxful time here, but I am ready to come home. I have definitely had my share of alcohol and I gambled some--won $40 on Monday with just .50. Not a bad return on my investment.

For my NASCAR buds, I went to the NASCAR cafe. They had one of Tony's old car, but hey...they had his car. They had a few items, but I already have several of the pictures. I did however, take some pictures of Dale Sr's car for Tiredawg. I will post those when I get back home. I am planning to take a trip out to LVMS on Friday. OH---went to Madame Troussau's Wax Museum. The figurines are so lifelike. I was standing by one of the figurines to get my picture taken and I bumped into the figure and I said "excuse me". They had a wax figure of Dale Sr. there. Pretty cool stuff. I headed to M&Ms World to take a gander of what they had left on Elliott Sadler stuff--was able to get a t-shirt for $15! Also, they had his Pirates of the Carribbean White Chocolate M&M car which he ran eariler this year on display. Have lots of pics for you Hey 19!

Any how....we are leaving on Friday. I like Vegas, but after three or four days I am sooooooooo ready to come home.

    Have a good one!

Oh--I was happy with Tony's road race finish and Elliott's finish! On to Michigan boys---Good Luck!

My Last Post...Well Until I Get Back from Vegas!
I probably won't get to do much posting after today. I am off to Vegas for a MUCH needed VACATION! I plan to gamble, shop, and drink! I will probably do more of the drinking activity than gambling and shopping. I do plan to stop off at M&M World perhaps pick up some of the last remaining Sadler items. Good thing the Coca Cola store is next door. Maybe I can pick up some of the Coca Cola Racing Team items. I am thinking of heading out to the LV Motor Speedway to take in a tour. Cost--$8.00! Any how I will have lots of pictures when I get back. I will miss the road race, but I am not into road racing so I am not too upset. Until I can get back to The Park, I borrowed this little survey from "NASCAR Girl" who borrowed it from Chick's View. So if you have some time this week...surf on over to their sites.

PS--I did some MAJOR overhauling to The Park. Let me know what you think!

    Real Name: Trixie
Age: I just celebrated the 7th anniversary of my 29th birthday
Hair color: Right now...black, but my natural brown shade is coming back nicely
    Eye color: Blue
    Height: 5'8
    Heritage: German/Scottish/Hillibilly

Favorite Driver(s): Tony Stewart, Elliott Sadler, Kevin Harvick
Three favorite tracks: Texas, Bristol, Talladega

Feelings on Tony Stewart: If you read my blog, you know my feelings on Tony. Tony is a racer's racer. He can drive anything. He isn't afraid to tell it like it is and he makes no apologies about it.
If you were Mike Helton for a day...: I would bring back the Southern 500, remove restrictor plates, eliminate road racing, set a limit on the amount of commercials to be shown, and fire Mike Helton and take his place.
Ever fallen asleep during a race? Yes. There are a couple of tracks that lend themselves to good racing.
Dream NASCAR job: I would love to work with Tony Stewart. Doing what you might ask??? That's a tough one...personal assistant/personal chef/personal anything.
Best race you've ever watched: I would have to say the Daytona 500 the year Dale Sr. won and last year's Brickyard. Smoke was awesome!

    An Open Letter
    Go fast...turn left...don't crash!

Since my head is still spinning from all of the musical team mess, I thought I would put this out there.

Earlier this week I had removed someone's site from the Park for remarks about Mr. Stewart. Just like Tony I let the anger and frustration get the better of me. She is new to NASCAR and I overreacted. Just like Tony. I have to be patient with the "rookies". She's a Kasey Kahne fan. Next to Tony and Elliott, Kahne ranks up there in my book. Like her I am frustrated with everything that has happened over the last several months. I really want Tony to get his head on straight and race the champion he is. I would also like Kasey to be able to challenge for the Chase. He is going to be one of those drivers that will set NASCAR on fire in the next few years. And I won't even go into Elliott Watch 2006--it just plain hurts.

I was called to the NASCAR trailer by Postman to discuss my actions. I have been put on probation until December 31, 2006. I have been fined $25,000 and docked 25 driver points. And I have put her link back in the Park.

So if you get a chance...stroll on over to Army of Mom. Love the site...very funny stuff...and please be kind she's a NASCAR rookie.

    Evermayham--Part Deux
    Go fast...turn left...don't crash!

Looks like the move to put Bill Elliott in the #19 for this weekend's race instead of Jeremy Mayfield has come back to bite Everyham in the ASS.

Becuase Mr. Everham did not make the change in time by NASCAR standards, they cannot use the past champions provisional.

In the words of Red Foreman (the dad on "That 70s Show")--"The reason bad things happen to you, is because you're a dumbass." (note--i have the audio clip, but don't know how to put it into the post.)

    Aug 8, 2006
    Evermayham
    Go fast...turn left...don't crash!

What is going on over at Everham? Mayfield is out of the #19 for Watkins Glen. I know Mayfield would have had to qualify on time and Mayfield has been uhappy this year, but WTF?

Everham will use Bill Elliott will take his place this weekend. If Elliott is the highest past champion not in the top 35 the #19 is in the race. From the sounds of it on NASCAR.com, Jeremy may be out of the #19 sooner than later. Also it sounds like from the report on NASCAR.com that Jeremy had not been told. Will this mean Sadler Watch 2006 may be coming to an end??

Of course as we all know....with any story there is three sides...you side, their side, and the truth. We will all have to see what will transpire over the next few days. Either way the ball bounces it is going to be very, very interesting to watch.

Oh by the way...I KICKED ASS ON MY FINAL EXAM!!! 145 POINTS OUT OF 150 POINTS!!!! WOO HOO!!!!

    You Have Been Removed
    Go fast...turn left...don't crash!

One of the sites I read on a daily basis has been removed from the Park. Why? The person made disparaging remarks against Smoke. This person has made remarks about Smoke, but they were made in fun. Her remarks this time were just plain mean and pointless. Let me me set the record straight for you...Smoke did not cause Kasey's wreck. In fact Kasey tried to avoid hitting Smoke. So the next time you feel the need to disparage Smoke get your facts straight. You might want to check on NASCAR.com

    Like a Ton of Bricks
    Go fast...turn left...don't crash!

I was all excited about yesterday's Brickyard 400. My man Tony was the defending champion and I was hoping for a repeat of last year's performance. He was getting some nice air time this weekend from everyone--Trackside, QVC, and Race Day. In case you missed it Tony was on Trackside and Elliott wanted to declare him Mr. NASCAR. Then over on QVC's "For Race Fans Only", Tony was helping them promote and/or sell NASCAR merchandise. We bought two t-shirts (one Mark M. for Postman and the Tony shirt for me), plus a die-cast display case. You couldn't beat it. We can pay it out in installments over 5 months as well as free shipping and handling. On Race Day, they showed Tony racing in the Spencer Junk Yard Race. Very funny stuff. Tony was having a HELL of a time. And of course Tony won. And did you notice the number on the side of his car??? #19...kind of funny---was he poking fun at Jeremy?? Perhaps Tony needs to get a Carl pinata and beat the HELL out of it. Of course I really hate NBC--they are so pro-HMS--yuck.

Everything looked great, both Elliott and Tony were starting midpack, but I knew it wouldn't take them long especially Tony to get to the front. Then it happened....Elliott went down in Turn 2 and ended up in the wall on Lap 3. IT WAS UGLY. Let's just say I was yelling so many unsportsmanlike words at the TV. How much more can this man take this season I ask you? NBC interviewed him in the garage and like a gentleman accepted responsibility for his crash. You could see the disappointment in his eyes and his voice. What a year--last year on the pole to this year--43rd.

Things look like they would pick up however, when Jeff G. thought he had a tire going down, however it turned out to be a broken bolt on his left sway bar. Jeff went a lap down. This pleased me somewhat, but it angered Postman. He had Jeff G. this week in his weekly driver contest. Throughout the race Jeff was able to get back on the lead lap thanks to some cuations and that damn lucky dog award. Speaking of HMS, I thought the NASCAR gods were on my side yesterday, when THAT DRIVER blows a left front tire. But somehow, someway THAT DRIVER comes out smelling like a rose. That's all I have to say about that.

Tony looked good yesterday. He started back in 32rd but quickly made his way through the field. There was little bobble with a lug nut on one of his pit stops, but we all know Tony won't let a little lug nut get (i.e. Edwards) in the way of winning the Brickyard. I didn't get to see them interview Tony on NBC because I was over at Speed watching Race Day. I had no idea Countdown to Green was going to run over Race Day. But apparently, Tony was asked about the incident at Pocono (once again), and he said, "he calls Carl Edwards the "Eddie Haskell of NASCAR." Of course in NBC fashion they ask old Cousin Carl about Tony and I quote his words , "Tony's just a moron. He never admits he's wrong, and that's a shame." You know what Carl, you're the moron. Tony is over Pocono. I am over Pocono. You know what I agree with Tony, you are just like Eddie Haskell. Sweet and all innocent sounding--golly gee pa in front of the media, but turn your back and BAM--a jerk. I will give you something to flip over. Oh by the way...that was Mr. Stewart's orange #20 Home Depot car finishing in front of YOU! That's right Tony finished 8th and he is now 9th in the standings and well...you are 14th.

I was excited at the prospect of Jeff Burton winning the Brickyard yesterday. But as we all know and saw that wasn't the case. Jeff finished 15th after a dominating day.

I was hoping and praying and wishing for the NASCAR gods to take out THAT other home improvement car, but they did not heed my prays and wishes. I cheered for Junior. I cheered for Matt. There was even a late
race crash, but it was too late. THAT DRIVER won. I gave up good study time to see this happen. I just wanted to cry. I did find it amusing tthat DUMBASS dropped the flag during his celebration. Tony wouldn't have dropped the flag. And did you see the "flying objects"??? I guess there were some upset fans. Of course all NBC did was fall all over THAT DRIVER. The y talked about all the adversities THAT TEAM had gone through and blah, blah, blah. Where were the commercials then NBC??? Well, Kasey Kahne suffered a hard hit at the end of the race. I hope it wasn't those crazy Kasey stalkers. You know how they drive. Hopefully Kasey has Allstate's Accident Forgiveness.

Here are some more results from the Brickyard
    2. Matt Kenseth (woo hoo)
    3. Kevin Harvick (woo hoo)
    4. Clint Bowyer (RCR--not bad rookie)
    5. Mark Martion (woo hoo from Postman)
    6. Dale Earnhardt Jr. (well deserved after the last two 43rd finishes)

All in all Tony had a good day. He finished 8th and moved up one spot to 9th in the standings. Next week the boys are road racing at Watkins Glen. Unfortunately I will be doing my own kind of road racing on my way to Vegas for a much needed VACATION so I won't get to see the race.

One more note...love those Little Debbie commercials with Ken Schrader. Very, very funny.

    Saturday Stuff
    Go fast...turn left...don't crash!

Congrats to Jeff Burton! I was able to watch his qualifying run this morning and all I can say is DAMN! He laid down an awesome lap this morning.

Oh what a shame that Mikey wasn't able to get into the show for Sunday. I am glad he isn't trying to buy his way in this time.

My boys didn't do so hot either, but I am not worried. To me it isn't where you start, but where you finish. Tony is slated to start 32nd while Elliott faired a little better. Candyman will start 27th. I love Elliott's Snickers paint scheme--guess I will have eat some Snickers tomorrow.

Mayfield to Bill Davis Racing??? I wish these people would hurry up and decide what they are going to do. I need to know where Elliott will be next year.

Oh...poor Big Shrub crashed and has to go to his backup car...oh what a shame....I am so crushed. His car kinda looks like what I used to do to a Miller Lite Can when I finished drinking its contents.

Just caught the tail end of the Busch race....Congrats to Kevin Harvick! From the sounds of it he dominated the race. The only other person to lead the race was Denny Hamlin. This makes 5 Busch wins for Happy Harvick.

Well...the big one is tomorrow. Good luck to my boys! Let's make it two in a row Smoke!

    Brickyard Repeat??
    Go fast...turn left...don't crash!

Will Tony repeat his victory at the Brickyard this weekend? I would like to see him do it. I think it will help boost the team after the last couple of weeks. People are still talking about Pocono. For me, it's over and done with.

I would LOVE to see Tony in Victory Lane again. Let's just hope he keeps his anger in check this week. I hope this year's Brickyard is as exciting as last year's Kasey gave Tony a run for his money last year, but as we all Tony would not be defeated. The Brickyard belonged to Tony last year!

Just a little reminder of last years highlights...

I Fought the Exam and It Kicked My Ass
    Go fast...turn left...don't crash! (Unfortunately, I crashed.)

You know how Tony looked after he hit the wall at Lowe's??? Well, that was me after yesterday's exam.

First of all I suffered severe brain freeze for about 30 minutes. I looked over the test and realized HOLY CRAP BATMAN--WTF! I have to complete ALL of this in 3 hours.!!! Ok. My brain went into shock trying to decide what to do. Once I calmed myself down I was able to focus.

Of course it was not an error free test that would be too easy. When your exam requires the use of computer applications there is going to be some kind of glitch. I was so frustrated I thought I would throw my computer across the testing room. I finished as much as I could. I didn't leave anything blank. So hopefully I did ok. I do have an oppotunity to complete an extra credit assignment to help boost my grade. I wasn't going to attempt this assignment (I have an "A" in the class so far), but after yesterday HELLO extra credit. As I walked out of the testing room, my head and neck were in severe pain. I am only assuming it was stress related. I can only relax today. I have a project presentation tomorrow, an extra credit review to complete, that pesky extra credit (due Monday), and my final exam on Monday. So it will be a mad dash this weekend...of course I will definitely be taking a break on Sunday. I do have my priorities to think about!!!!

    Cleaning House
    Go fast...turn left...don't crash!

Well, looks like Yates is cleaning house. Slugger Labbe AND Tommy Baldwin crew chiefs for the #88 and #38 cars respectively were fired by RYR. Butch Hylton who has been working at RYR since June will take over crew chief duties for the #88 car this weekend. Charles "Cully" Barraclough will take over crew chief duties for the #38 car this weekend as well. Barrablough has previously worked as crew chief in the Busch Series for Matt Kenseth and Denny Hamlin. So I am hoping this is a good sign for Elliott.

Once again we will all have to watch and see how this plays out of the next few months.
