Smokin'
Tony will attempt to race on Sunday at Dover. He will need to at least start the race in order to receive points for the race. this is one of these injuries that just has to run its course. Of course how long Tony will stay in the car depends on how much pain he can endure.

On the upside though, JGR has tapped Ricky Rudd to relieve Tony on Sunday if necessary. Ricky Rudd will also practice and qualify the #POWERade Orange #20 (see note below). Ricky Rudd has won four races at Dover and I like Ricky. I don't have a problem with him taking over the #20 on Sunday. Smoke is going to need all the rest he can get. I am just glad this happened now and not during the last 10 races.

Smoke's #20 car will sport a different kind of orange in Dover after it's decked out in custom POWERADE Orange graphics to support the launch of the brand's new, ultra-grippable 32-ounce bottle. Not only will the race car help introduce the new POWERADE Orange packaging, but it also will help raise money for the Tony Stewart Foundation.

Good Luck on Sunday Tony!

This Bud's For You!
According to NASCAR.com
"The predominantly cream-colored car will feature vintage Budweiser bow-tie logos which were introduced in 1956 -- the same year Ralph Earnhardt won the NASCAR National Sportsman title, a series that eventually became the modern-day Busch Series. Dale Earnhardt also raced a similar paint scheme when he began his NASCAR career in 1974 -- the same year Dale Jr. was born."

Can't wait until Michigan! First the black #8 at Talladega and now this. Talk about Back In The Day! Thanks Junior!

Michael Waltrip
I have been watching all that has upfolded this past weekend with Mr. Waltrip.

Did he violate any NASCAR rules by purchasing Derrike Cope's ride? No.

Was is it professional? Maybe in his eyes it might have been. I mean after all his big brother did it. So why not? I also noticed that old DW didn't have much to say on the subject or it could have been the fact that I am learning to tune DW out when he speaks--but that rant is for another day.

I would like to think if Mikey had that kind of money to "buy" his way into the race, he could invest it into his car. By investing into his car wouldn't you assume, you would have the car week in and week out to qualify for the races? Come on Mikey, you have NAPA auto parts for a sponsor. Couldn't you get some car parts from them? Maybe if he stopped making all those annoying NAPA/Aaron's commercials, he would have time to focus on his car, his driving, etc. (NAPA commercials are just not the same any more without Dale Jr. in them.).

When Scott Riggs didn't qualify for the Daytona 500 this year, you didn't see him or his owner buy their way into the race. Scott took his "defeat" and soldiered on. And he has qualified for every race ever since, including winning the pole for the Coca Cola 600.

To be honest, I never knew who Michael Waltrip was until he won the Daytona 500 back in 2001. Of course, I didn't follow NASCAR as much as I do now, but I knew enough to know I didn't even know of him. Of course the only thing I remember about that Daytona 500 was the loss of Dale Sr.

I really hate it when the pit reporters interview him. Can't they find someone more interesting and less annoying to interview say like Little Shrub or Unibrow? It seems as if he isn't focused or serious about his performance this year. It's like he doesn't care because next year he will be racing with Toyota and Dale Jarrett will be his teammate. Just a reminder Mikey, if you want to be guaranteed a spot in the first 5 races of the 2007 season, you need to be in the top 35 in owner points.

Oh, well, I have probably somewhere upset Mikey fans, but you know what I don't care. I thought what he did was wrong.

YEA KASEY!!!! YEA KASEY!!!!!!
ENGINE, ENGINE #9 GOIN' CROSS THE FINISH LINE!!!!

NO HMS IN VICTORY LANE!!!! UNIBROW HAS TO SETTLE FOR 2ND!!! The woes of HMS!
1st out: Vickers

Of all the HMS drivers, I wanted to see Vickers have a decent night. He doesn't "fit in" with the others at HMS.
2nd out: Busch

I am really tired of Kyle Busch. Why on earth did Kyle feel the need to throw his Hans device at Casey Mear's car? Hello...Casey's car got loose! He didn't do it on purpose. Kyle is such a JERK!!!!
3rd out: Gordon

Oh my...Jeffy Poo crashed into the wall. Something broke on his car. Oh what a shame..shucky darn. Would you like some cheese with that whine???

I fought the wall and the wall won
NOOOOOOOOOOOOO...Tony! As they pulled Tony out of the car, he didn't look too good. He was definately in some serious pain. I mean he is probably still sore from last night's wreck and then now this. Your body can only take so much. I don't care how much protection the drivers have around them, back to back crashes into a wall can a toll on one's body. Tony was transported to a local hospital for observation. Tony has a fracture in his right scapula. Yikes!!!

Candyman Report
Once again, Elliott struggled all night long with his car. What's up with that? I think Yates needs to look at the crew chief or perhaps others on the crew. How long can Elliott keep going like this? It has to be frustrating for Elliott. I am hoping things start looking up for Elliott. Elliott finished a dismal 30th.

Other Tidbits
Apparently Michael buying his way into the race didn't work out for him tonight. Sometimes karma bites one in the butt. You finished 41st.

All in all I was happy with the results of the race. All 5 Roush cars were in the top ten. Postman hubby was happy with a 4th place finish for his driver Mark Martin.

Nice finish for Matt Kenseth. The weekend turned around nicely after the DNF in the Busch race.

Top Ten
1. Kasey Kahne
2. Jimmie Johnson
3. Carl Edwards
4. Mark Martin
5. Matt Kenseth
6. Jeff Burton
7. Greg Biffle
8. Jamie McMurray
9. Denny Hamlin (R)
10. Reed Sorenson (R)

Indy 500
Congrats to Sam Hornish Jr--2006 Indy 500 Champ!

This is his first Indy 500 win in seven attempts. I thought the way it was looking early that Dan Wheldon, last year's winner, was going to dominate. However, just because you dominate doesn't mean you will be there at the end of the race. It's not where you start, but where you end up. Hornish had a terrible pit stop where he was penalized after a fuel hose was still connected to his car. It looked like that pit stop and penalty was going to keep Hornish from winning the 500, however this wasn't going to be the case.

Props toMarco Andretti, 19-year old rookie & son of Michael Andretti, almost won the Indy 500! Can you imagine? You have to feel bad for Michael though...the 500 has been so elusive for him.

Happy Memorial Day!
I like to take this time to remember what Memorial Day is all about.

I would like to say "Thank You" to all the men and women who are serving today to protect my
freedom. I would like to say "Thank You" for all of those men and women who have served before you. I would also like to say "Thank You" for those who have given the ultimate sacrifice. Without all these brave men and women I would not be able to have the freedoms I have today.

A special prayer to those who never made it home--you are still in our hearts!

A special thank you to my my father, Claude Crews (who served in the Air Force), my father-in-law CharlesPeterman Sr. (Army and ret. National Guard, Vietnam Vet), Uncle Chris Christy(ret. Air Force), Uncle Cecil Rupert (ret. Air Force), Uncle Goffrey "Junior " Crews (ret. Air Force, Vietnam Vet), Uncle William McKenzie (who served in the Marines), my and my cousin Joe Cave (ret. Navy). Thank you for your service and dedication!

My prayers and thoughts are with the soldiers who are currently serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. May you come home safely and soon.

They Call Him Flipper, Flipper
Congrats to Carl Edwards!

I felt bad for Casey Mears. I really wanted him to win especially since it is also Indy weekend. How can you not want a Mears to win on Indy weekend?

Hey, Ya'll...What This?
I am glad to see Elliott is ok after his stage dive attempt. I was watching a replay today of Trackside when I saw the incident. I was just hopin' it wasn't the same people who were at the All Star race last week--please catch Elliott. I was mortified when I realized Elliott was down. Luckily, the only injury he sustained was a bruise on his thigh.

I missed Tony's wreck (thank goodness). I saw the replay and all I have to say is DAMN that looked like that hurt! When they showed the replay of him getting out of his car he didn't look too good. He winched a little when he was climbing through the window and then he was rubbing his right shoulder. It sounds like he is ok, but I am glad he went to get x-rayed. If he has a cracked rib, let me tell ya, it ain't fun. Slipped and fell a few years ago in my bathroom and hit the side of the bath tub so hard I cracked a rib. It was very painful and all that they could do for me was give me some drugs...but they were very good drugs--he he!

Note to Hamlin's crew...negative to negative...positive to positive..DOH!

From the WTF Desk:
Matt's engine blowed up..and they went to commercial...are you kiddin' me??? I am sick and tired of this!!! I want to see race coverage not a commerical!

Ok boys..why couldn't these Busch qualifying spots been for the Cup race????

I saw that Mikey Waltrip had to buy his way into the Coca Cola 600 since he didn't qualify on time last night. He purchased Derrick Cope's qualifying spot. I wonder how much it cost him?? Oh well....

Good luck boys!

Times, They Are A Changin'
So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, and good night..that's right folks Robert Yates is making come changes and he is starting at the top. General Manager, Eddie D'Hondt, was fired yesterday by Robert Yates as part of a restrucing effort over at Robert Yates Racing.

As you will also recall, Elliott was removed from #90 busch car so that he could concentrate more on his Cup car and Yates could work on the development of drivers Stephen Leicht and Matt McCall. However, Yates announced yesterday that Elliott will be moved back into the #90 car starting this Saturday. Yea! This means more chances to watch Elliott race.

I hope these changes help. Elliott has struggled somewhat this year some not of his doing. I mean, how do you qualify 8th at Darlington and then end up 29th. He struggled all day. His crew could not get it dialed in for Elliott. And then last week during the Open qualifying, BAM! I was so upset! When they interviewed Elliott, you could see the disappointment and frustration in his face and his voice. I know Elliott fans everywhere are hoping these changes will help what every is going on over at Yates.

Good Luck this week Elliott!

Dumb Ass Move of the Night
Even though I felt one of Ryan Newman's crew had the dumb ass move of the night, I have to say I ran a close second.

Last night I decided to fix spaghetti and meat sauce for dinner. Since the race was on we didn't really feel like going out to eat. So we decided to have spaghetti and meat sauce. It's something quick and easy. I prepared the hamburger meat, sauce, our side dish green beans, and the garlic bread. I was ready to fix the plates for Postman and myself when suddenly...yep you guessed it I had no spaghetti. That's right--my dumb ass move---I forgot the main ingreadient of spaghetti and meat sauce--SPAGHETTI.

And this is why I don't like to cook!

All Star Carnage
Last night was definitely a little on the weird side. After several rain delays, the open was able to get underway. Congratulations to Scott Riggs for racing his way into the All-Star race. He led every lap of the Open except one. I was really hoping that Elliott would be able to make his way up through the field, but sometimes 30 laps just isn't enough time.

I'm glad Kyle Petty was voted into the All-Star race last night. The real winners are the kids and Victory Junction. Kyle survived all the "car"nage to finish 8th.

Little Shrub won segment one. Whoop De Freakin' Do! However, when the invert occurred they inverted 1-10 which meant Unibrow would not move to the front of the pack. Unfortunately segment two would take out half the field. After a restart on Lap 50, the "big one" happened. Kasey slid up into Martin and Martin had no where to go thus setting of a chain reaction behind them taking out several good cars. The wreck took out Kasey, Martin, Little Shrub, Jeremy Mayfield, and caused damage to several other cars including Tony Stewart. It was UGLY! However Kevin managed to get through. He won the second segment. I was a little upset that Unibrow was still in the race. I knew if he even got close to the front it was going to be over.

I was a little upset during the final segment. I couldn't tell from the replays what happened to Tony's car. It looked like he just got loose and ended up getting into Kensenth. Either way it knocked them both out. It was obvious Tony was a tad bit upset. I am glad the media didn't try to talk to him after he got out of the car. He was a little miffed. This of course isn't the first time Tony and Matt have tangled.

I hate to be Jack Roush this morning. 5 cars in the All-Star race--4 had terminal damage while the only other car (Carl Edwards) suffered damage. Carl finished the race with a fourth place finish.

Dumb Ass Move of the Night
One of Newman's crew jumping into the crowd during crew introductions and no one in the crowd catching. Splat!!!!

Well after everything was said and done...Jimmie Johnson won. That's right I stayed up to see Unibrow win. He won because he survived. That's it. I hope he doesn't win next week. I am so sick of hearing about Jimmie Johnson and Lowe's Motor Speedway and who gives a rat's butt if he signed an extension with HMS. Stop the madness!!!

Speaking of stopping the madness, was it me or has DW got a case of diarrhea of the mouth? He usually doesn't get on my nerves, but damn...shut the &*$% up! I baseball bat to the side of the head would have been less painful. I kept screaming "SHUT UP!! SHUT UP!! Enough already...we get it.

Final results
1. Jimmie Johnson
2. Kevin Harvick

3. Jeff Gordon
4. Carl Edwards
5. Ryan Newman
6. Bobby Labonte

7. Dale Jarrett
8. Kyle Petty

9. Dale Earnhardt Jr.
10. Scott Riggs
11. Matt Kenseth

12. Tony Stewart
13. Greg Biffle
14. Kasey Kahng
15. Mark Martin
16. Kyle Busch
17. Jeremy Mayfield

18. Jamie McMurray
19. Michael Waltrip
20. Kurt Busch

Preakness Race
Congratulations to Bernardini for winning the Preakness today. And once the winning horse was a #8. Is this a sign of who will tonight at the All Star Race? When the #8 horse (Barbaro) won the Kentucky Derby, another #8 won a race at Richmond.

Unfortunately there will be no Triple Crown winner. Shortly after starting the race, Barbaro pulled up. Barbaro suffered a break above and below his ankle. My heart goes out to Barbaro, his jockey, and trainer. Get well Barbaro!

WTF
WTF???

My friend and I were out shopping at a local craft show that was in town and waiting to purchase some fudge and suddenly out of nowhere this lady struck up the following conversation with me.

(Sidenote: I only wear NASCAR t-shirts on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.)

Fat Skank (as she looks at my shirt): Are you really a Kevin Harvick fan or do you just wear the shirt?
Me: Yes, I am a Kevin Harvick fan. I also like Tony Stewart too.
FS: I was just wondering. We also like Tony too, but were Little E fans.
Me: I like him too.

Now at first this didn't really bother me because I like it when I meet NASCAR fans, but the more I thought about the more it began to piss me off. I am thinking WTF! Is she the "Kevin Harvick" police? Is she making sure people who wear a Kevin Harvick shirt are truly a Kevin Harvick fan? Should I have asked her if she was an Earhardt fan or does she just wear the t-shirt? If you know me, you know I just don't wear the shirt. If this woman would have looked carefully, she would have seen (along with my shirt) my Tony Stewart earrings, my Tony Stewart watch, and my race car charm bracelet with a "29" on it. Too bad my cell phone didn't ring while standing there, she would have heard my ringtone "I Love NASCAR". I could have show her the picture of Postman and myself sitting on the pit wall at Texas Motor Speedway!

Of course, I don't feel so bad now when I kept encouraging her bad mannered children to try all the flavors of the fudge!--he he!!!

I'm So Sad
Congrats to Kasey Kahne for winning yet another pole this season. That's 3 poles in point races (Atlanta, Texas, Darlington) and now the pole for the All-Star Race which makes 4!

Unfortunately, I was able to watch Elliott's qualifying run...DAMN!! I am so sad! I guess I didn't eat enough M&Ms today. I am hoping Elliott can race his way in if not he hope he is voted in. The race commentators mentioned that Elliott was one of the top three vote getters with Kyle Petty and Martin Truex Jr. There were quite a few cars that spun out as well as a few trucks. Hopefully, the resurfacing did its job. We shall see with the truck race.

Congrats to Erin Crocker for qualifying 2nd for the truck race tonight. She is the first woman to qualify for the front row in a truck race. Good Luck Erin!

I am now going to have bite the bullet and subscribe to Sirius satellite radio. Beginning January 2007, Tony will have his own show on Sirius radio. Preview editions of Tony Stewart Live will run October 2006.

Winners
2006 Nextel Pit Crew Challenge
Congrats to #1 Martin Truex's pit crew for winning the 2006 Nextel Pit Crew Challenge.

They changed 4 tires, filled the car with 18 gallons of gasoline, and then pushed the car 40 yards in a time of 25.44 seconds. The winning team received $70,100!

Fox's Sexiest Driver

Well folks, we are down to the Final Four.

Michael Waltrip vs Jimmie Johnson and Dale Jarrett vs Jeff Gordon

First up...Mikey vs Unibrow...get the vote out! Mikey is ahead of Unibrow!

No HMS driver should be in the finals!

Head on over and vote as many times as you can here! And once again as I always say...vote early and vote often!

Goodbyes, Season Finales, & Sole Survivor
I have watched quite a bit of telvision this week. I do watch other shows--I have to fill the time between NASCAR weekends.

Two of my favorite shows said good-bye this week--The West Wing and Will & Grace. Both finales were pretty good. I will miss West Wing more than Will & Grace however. I guess I will have to get my West Wing fix on Bravo and with my box sets.

I am a Grey's Anatomy fan. I started watching it mid way through the first season because there wasn't anything else on Sunday nights at 9. I think part of the reason I got hooked was because of Patrick Dempsey. I have always like him as an actor. My favorite movie of his "

1. Denny receives a heart, proposes to Izzy, Izzy says yes, and then Denny dies. The most poignant part of this story line...when Izzy breaks down in Alex's arms. He has been kind of jerk towards her lately, but when she needed a friend he was there for her.

2. Enough already with Meredith and Dr. McDreamy. When it looked like Meredith had moved on with Doc's vet...Derek wakes up and realizes he wants to be with Mer. I think she should have gone with Finn

3. Love George, however I don't like him with Callie. I don't know why, I just don't

4. I love Bailey--favorite line from the episode "Where are all my suck ups?"

5. Christina and Burke have grown on me. I think Christiina likes to be in control of her life and when things are beyond her control she freaks. I think she realized how important Burke is to her.

I haven't had a chance to watch the CSI or ER season finale. Postman was at union meeting and he also wanted to watch them so they were TIVOed.

Congratulations to Aras for being the sole survivor. I tried to keep up with this one as much as I could. I wanted Terry to win because he great player. However I was glad to see Aras win. He was always bringing his "A" game and I can respect that. That's why if I had been on the jury I would have voted for Aras. I really like Survivor. I have been watching them from the beginning and I probably will until they stop showing them. My favorite to date--Survivor: Australia...Survivor: Panama and Exile Island are close seconds.

Well...this weekend will be filled with everything NASCAR.

Good Luck Tony, Elliott, and Kevin!!!!

Tidbits
Tomorrow is NASCAR day. Don't forget to show your pride tomorrow.

Truck race is tomorrow night in Charlotte.

All-Star Race Saturday night. Elliott will either have to race himself in or be voted in. As they say...vote early and vote often.

Saturday, May 20, is Tony's birthday. Happy Birthday, Tony! I would love for Tony to win on Saturday night...talk about a great birthday present.

Sold my tickets for the truck race and Indy race in June. Postman and I weren't going to be able to make the race so we felt why not share the love with others.

Memorial Day Weekend--INDY 500 and COCA COLA 600. That's racing from sunup to sundown.

Have a great Friday everyone!

Thank You
I am currently wading through several teaching assistant evalautions. As I type the "comments" for the TAs to read, I am beginning to wonder what has happened to our writing skills. I don't know if the kids are getting it or what. I know for a fact Ms. H. out there is busting her tail off each and every day to teach the kids proper writing and grammar skills and I applaud her for that. Thanks Ms. H!

I don't know if this age of instant messaging, text messagaing and email has created this problem, but I for one am concerned. Punctuation is a good thing. It is alright to put a period at the end of the sentence. I remember in school back in the day it meant STOP. The sentence is done. The next one is beginning shortly. A new sentence should also be signaled by capitalization. It is ok to that too. Commas are your friend as well. Don't be afraid to use your punctuation. I will be the first to tell you English (see English is always capitalized) was never a strong subject for me. I still to this day struggle with the whole tense, voice, etc. stuff. I tried my best in school to get grammar and writing. I had some hard ass teachers back in the day. The type of teacher who wasn't afraid of parents, the parents' lawyers, students and administrators. I remember learning to diagram a sentence at the tender age of 10. That's right folks 10. I had to diagram sentences all the way through my senior year. I hated it, but I can probably still diagram a sentence today.

I would like to take this time to thank all those teachers who gave a damn and who impacted my life more than they will ever know.
Highland Park Elementary/Junior High (Amarillo, TX)
Ms. Molesworth (2nd grade teacher)
Ms. Adams (3rd grade teacher--she taught me my multiplication tables)
Ms. Despain (5th/6th grade teacher--Reading, Social Studies)
Ms. Briggs (5th/6th grade teacher--Math
Mr. Shipley (7th/8th/9th grade teacher--Science)
Ms. Howell (7th--Texas History--thanks for showing fun and exciting Texas is)
Ms. Hall (8th--US History--she's the reason I am fascinated by US Civil War today)
Ms. Barnett (7th, 8th, 9th grade Literature--had separate teacher for English)
Coach Goza (basketball coach)
Axtell High School
Dr. Allen (high school teacher--she's the reason I have such great typing skills.)
Coach Monsey (11th grade World History instructor)
Mr. Harris (10th, 11th grade--Math teacher)

Of this list three of them have influenced and impacted my life in so many ways.
Coach Jerry Goza
He was the one who taught me to love basketball. He was my basketball coach from 2nd-9th grade. He was always pushing me to do my best. My favorite memory of him---I was very upset when an opponent slapped me during a basketball game during my 8th grade year. The referee didn't call a foul and my coach really didn't say anything to the ref about it. I was also upset that we lost. After the game, I went into a temper tantrum in the dressing room. I yelled at my teammates, etc. Then I proceeded to throw my gym bag acroos the cafeteria (note--cafeteria and gym were connected together) and then as I was walking out of the school I pushed open the door so hard that it hit the other door. The only ones who said anything to me about my fit were my parents. For the next couple of games I rarely saw any game time. My butt was firmly parked on the bench. I didn't know until years later that my coach was punishing me. He never said anything to me, but he told my parents. He wanted me to figure things out for myself. Sometimes his silence was golden. Thanks Coach Goza. Sadly I was unable to share my thoughts about him with him. He passed away several years ago.
Mr. John Shipley
I hated science (this can be attributed to Mr. Deputy). However, I was able to tolerate the subject thanks to Mr. Shipley. He was one of those hard ass teachers I was talking about. He wanted his students to be sucessful and never settle for second best. He gave everyone in his advanced classes a nickname...mine was Ameldine. I don't the exact origin of the nickname, but I liked it. I don't recall much of what I learned in his physical science or biology class, but I do remember learning how to take notes. I took biology in 9th grade. He would read from his notebook and we as students would have to dictate those notes into our spirals. At first we were all terrible at it. We were always trying to write down every single word. He explained the benefit of taking notes and also how to create shortcuts. I thank god every day that I have this skill. He is the reason I was successful in college. He took the time to get to know us. He would ask us how our day was going. He was also there when we just needed to talk. Thank you Mr. Shipley.
Dr. Barbara Allen
Words cannot describe what Dr. Allen meant to me. She wanted all of her students to be successful. She believed in all of her students. She hated it when students would waste their potential. Those were the ones she pushed the hardest. They hated her for it. She pushed me quite a bit, not because I wasn't working hard, but because she wanted me to succeed. She was the reason I wanted to become a teacher. I wanted to make a difference in someone's life. I wanted someone to look back on their life and say hey...that teacher made a difference. She passed away my senior year in high school. It devastated our little class (she was a senior sponsor and the senior class was about 20 in size). I miss her, but I still her voice pushing me to succeed. Thank you Dr. Allen. I know you are still watching all of us.

I did have horrible teachers. Teachers who didn't give a damn and who were there for only the paycheck. I still to this day resent Mr. Deputy. He was so discouraging. He was mean and he played favorites. He is the reason I hated science for so long. I think I could have been an excellent scienctist Mr. Deputy. I found some interest in science in college thanks to some wonderful teachers, but by then it was too late for me. I missed out. I had one particular English teacher whose class I hated going to every day. She was lazy and she didn't care. She cared only if you were her favorite. She didn't challenge us at all. I resent her for that. She wasn't a good teacher.

So if you are a teacher please be kind and supportive, tough and challenging, expect the moon and the sun from your students and give all those words of encouragment we as students need. You make a difference!

Thank you to all my teachers both good and yes, bad. Each and everyone of you have taught me valuable life lessons.

Mother's Day
Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers and moms-to-be out there. I have no children yet, but here some pics of my two boys. The orange tabby is Rhett Butler and the other one is Raider. Both boys were adpoted. Rhett was adopted from the Lubbock pound...when Postman tried to pick him up, he reached out with his paw and scratched Postman on the nose. Right then and there I knew Rhett was a keeper and I could help the fact that he was named Rhett Butler. Gone With The Wind is one of my favorite movies. Rhett is definitely a momma's boy. We got Raider about year later. Yes...he is named after the TTU mascot. We weren't too thrilled about his real name "Theodore". He has definitely lived up to his name Raider. Raider loves to play fetch with straws. That's right folks straws. Throw one and he will go get and bring it back to you. They both give me joy and I don't know what I would do without them in my life.

Also...happy Mother's Day to the NASCAR moms...

Elliott and Mom Sadler

Darlington: Dodge Charger 500
Looks like the Biff won! Every time I hear him called Biff it reminds me of Biff in the Back to the Future trilogy. I am glad...Biffle isn't really a favorite of mine, but no Hendrick driver was in victory lane. Rats--my boys...Tony, Kevin, and Elliott had a rotten night.
Tony
Tony qualified 12th and well..finished 12th. No worse...no better. Tony's car wasn't all that great last night. He was in the time top for awhile, but began to slip back. The lowest he ran was Tony wasn't having a good night either. He finished 12th. The only good thing about 12th...I only gained 5 points in my contest on SmokeVip.com. You have to guess where Tony is going to place and the race winner. I picked Tony to finish 7th and Greg Biffle to win. Whereever Tony finishes you get that many points. For example I picked him to finish 7th and he finished 12th--thus 5 points added to my score. The lower score the better. After last week, I have a total of 5 points. I guess the right spot last week...he finished 5th.
Elliott
Elliott qualified 8th, but his car kept him from running well. At one time I heard he didn't have any front or back grip. That's not good at Darlington. He finished 29th.
Kevin
Kevin got bit by the track itself...did you see that piece of racetrack that ended up punching a hole in Kevin's radiator. Yikes. He finished 37th.

Other news from Darlington...looks like DJ is officially going to Toyota to be on Michael Waltrip's Toyota team next year. I wonder who will take DJ's #88? It will be interesting to see.

Darlington: Busch Report
Congratulations to Denny Hamlin (fellow JGR teammate of Tony Stewart) for winning last night from the pole. This is Denny's second win this year in Busch. He caputred victory in Mexico on their road course.

Kevin H. padded his points lead by finishing 7th after going to the back for an engine change. Unfortunately Kevin's #33 didn't fair as well. At lap 131 was involved in a wreck which knocked him out of his top ten run. Stewart finished 29th. I am hoping this isn't going to be the case tonight during the Cup race.

There were a few moments that made me chuckle. One was when two of the Sauter brothers got into one another again. They got into each other last week at Richmond. Ya gotta love sibling rivalry! And the second time, when DW and Larry Mac were curious to see what was under Mark Martin's car near the end of the race. They actually crouched down like they were looking underneath the car. At first I thought they were kidding, but the more they talked about the more they cracked themselves up. I have to admit, I sort of did the same thing sitting at home.

I don't mind race commentators, but there are times when I just want them to shut up and let us fans watch the race as it unfolds. UGH!!

KINKY!
That's right folks...Kinky Friedman has collected 169,574 signatures to get his name of the ballot for the Texas governor race! He only needed 45,500 signatures...that almost 4 times as many signatures he needed.

And...I can say mine and Postman's signatures are part of those 169,574 signatures.

I haven't been too thrilled with Governor Good Hair. I am quite fed up with his handling of the school finance issue. And I wasn't excited about the Democrat candidate Chris Bell or Carol Keeton Strayhorn. Strayhorn like Kinky had to collect signatures to get her name on the ballot. She is running as an Independent instead of a Republican. My thoughts on this is she probably couldn't beat Governor Good Hair in the Republican primary.

I think Texas is ready for an independent..no holds barred kind of governor. If Minnesota can elect Jesse "The Body" Ventura, why can't Texas elect a Jewish Cowboy?

Kinky...Why The Hell Not?

For Phyllis
This one is for a fellow Elliott fan in Texas...this one's for you Phyllis. My husband and I met Phyllis this past April at Texas Motor Speedway. She is a wonderful person and a huge Elliott Sadler fan. I am looking forward to seeing her in for the November race at TMS. Have a great weekend Phyllis! (**I found this pic of Elliott on Off the Pace --another fellow Elliott fan..great site.)

Darlington Darlings
Congrats to Kasey!

Kasey wins the pole for the Dodge Charger 500 on Saturday night...and we all know what happens when he wins the pole...he wins. He has 3 wins in Cup and they are all from the pole.
I am hoping this isn't the case. I would really like to see Smoke win so we can all see him climb the fence. Of course I would be happy with Kevin or Elliott winning either. Anybody but a Hendrick driver for me!

Top Ten
1. Kasey Kahne
2. Ryan Newman
3. Clint Bowyer (R)
4. David Stremme (R)
5. Denny Hamlin (R)

Sexiest Driver
Sexy Driver Contest
I don't know why Fox has this contest. Because several of the drivers that should have been voted on through in the contest weren't. For example...Dale Jr. was ousted by Mikey W. and Tony was ousted by Jimmie "Bushy Brows" Johnson.
I am devastated to see that Elliott was ousted by Jeff. I know there was a huge "Vote for Elliott" campaign out there, but we did out best and it looks like Jeff won. That's crap! We all know who the real winner is anyway! I think I will drown my sorrys in my stash of MMs..boo hoo!

Next up for voting..Big Shrub vs DJ...and DJ is way ahead of
Big Shrub.

Dale Jarrett to Toyota???
Rumors have been going around that DJ will move over to Michael Waltrip's Toyota team.
According to NASCAR.com, Michael is scheduled to make a live announcement Saturday at 12:30 p.m. on SPEED regarding the future of his organization.According to a source close to the situation, Waltrip plans to announce a deal with a current Cup driver.

I guess we will all have to wait and see...let the Silly Season begin.

Tony, Kevin, Elliott...Oh My!
Stewart To Race For Dollar General
Tony Stewart's No. 33 will adorn Dollar General colors this weekend at Darlington (S.C.) Raceway for Friday night's Busch Series event. Stewart joins fellow KHI drivers Burney Lamar and Kevin Harvick on the Dollar General Racing lineup card. Stewart will again pilot a No. 33 Dollar General Chevrolet in July when the Busch Series competes at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway. This weekend's race will be just the fourth Busch Series start of the season for Stewart. His last start came two weeks ago at Talladega. His day ended by sliding on the roof of the No. 33 Old Spice Chevrolet down the frontstretch as a result of a mid-race accident.

Harvick Pit Crew
Harvick's Team Scores Pit Crew Win At Richmond. Kevin Harvick's race team scored its first win of the season in the weekly Checkers/ Rally'sDouble Drive-Thru Challenge competition by spending the least amount of time on pit road in Saturday night's Nextel Cup race at Richmond International Raceway. The GM Goodwrench crew, which spent 164.225 seconds on pit road during the Crown Royal 400, helped propel its driver to a third-place finish in the event. Harvick also led the most laps, 272 of 400.

Elliott--Richmond

I love this photo of Elliot with the red M&M. He was the one standing behind Elliott and Kenny Wallace during their interview on Race Day.

Equipment Malfunction
Richard "Slugger" Labbe crew chief for Dale Jarrett (#88) was suspended by NASCAR until June 7 and fined $25,000 for unapproved rear sway bar mounting. It was discoverd during pre-race inspection

DJ was docked 25 driver points and Robert Yates was docked 25 championship points.

Robert Yates is appealing.

Watch the equipment boys!

One Man Dance Party

I laughed my butt off on this one!

Admitting You Have a Problem
They always say the first step to overcoming a problem is to admit you have one...

Well--here goes...Hi, my name is Trixie and I used to be a Jeff Gordon fan. For my husband, Postman, this is not news to him...he has been trying to get me for several months to admit I have a problem. I still think it had something do to with soemthing in water here in Lubbock or the abundance of alcohol I consumed during my college days.

That's right---I rooted for Jeffy Poo..the Whiner...Mr. Rainbow Warrior himself. I have quite an extensive collection of his stuff at home. However, I cannot at this time part with my items...I have too much money invested in some of the items. I might consider selling them on Ebay one day, but at the moment, they will just have to remain in my collection. I have stopped purchasing Jeff items however. I have not worn any of my gordon t-shirts lately and if I must it is only to clean house in them--don't want to get my important NASCAR shirts dirty. All my energy has been in finding Stewart, Harvick, Sadler, and Martin (Postman's fave driver) items. But I digress...

I have seen the error of my ways and on the road to recovery. I just take it one day at time.

thank you...trixie
